It's Not Over Yet!!!
Just because my birthday passed didn't mean the fun had to end!!! On Wednesday I took Mom out for her own birthday lunch since hers was just one week before mine. We went out to one of my favorite places in BA...Rodizio. It's actually a Brazilian style restaurant because they serve their food a little...differently. :) This particular Rodizio is in Puerto Madero, the old port of Buenos Aires that was redone a few years back and is now one of the fanciest parts of town to dine at.
It is simply beautiful, especially at night when the river is lit up with lights! Okay, so the way Rodizio works is you first get to visit the salad/appetizer bar with more than enough food to be an entire meal. Here I am showing Mom how to properly eat sushi...a new favorite of mine. Then, after a while, the meat starts to come. And yes, I do mean "starts".
The servers bring around each type of meat on a sword, from which they cut some off for you. And, in a very Argentine and Brazilian manner, the meat keeps coming until you are done!! The variety includes everything from sausage, chicken and several cuts of beef, to duck and lamb. This particular delicacy he's serving us here is molleja (thyroid gland).
Mom and I definitely got into the meal...it was wonderful.
And somehow you've got to leave room for dessert after all that meat...because it's all included!!! It was a very special meal, and even better to get to treat Mom to this different style of being served. :)
